Disclosure of how we use AI

12-minute video

What we never us AI for:

  • Qualitative research analysis

  • Quantitative data research interpretation or independent data analysis

  • Industry-specific expertise

  • Pedagogical decisions or writing of content

  • Creating slides or participant notes within our professional development resources

  • Image generation

  • Video or voice presentation

In short, AI never impersonates a human, nor is AI utilised to present our professional development resources. Furthermore, AI never replaces our research experience, skills, and training.

We do use AI as a thinking partner:

  • Literature review support, specifically synthesising academic literature which is then fact-checked by humans against original sources

  • As a librarian, helping us location specific excerpts or artefacts from our extensive internal library of collected data including thousands of pages of interview transcripts

  • Reviewing our research design and participant communications to ensure clarity of language (that is, helping us avoid academic-speak)

  • To brainstorm ways of structuring and grouping concepts for presentation as professional development (however AI does not write our content)

  • Suggesting edits to improve flow and clarity (and succinctness) or our writing

  • Practical applications in our research trials such as generating realistic workplace scenarios for learners to engage with, suggesting authentic assessment questions, finding ways to simplify complex content for different audiences, and so on

  • We also use AI to transcribe verbal notes along with interview and focus group recordings
